Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your account in the alfaz app, and the data we hold about you, at any time. Here's how.
- 1Email us from your account's addressWrite to [email protected] from the Google account you sign in to alfaz with. Sending it from that address shows us the account is yours.
- 2Ask us to delete your accountPut “Delete my alfaz account” in the subject. You don't need to give a reason.
- 3We delete it and tell youWe delete your account and its data within 30 days, usually within a few days, and email you when it's done. If you wrote from another address, we'll ask you to confirm from the account's own address first.
Uninstalling alfaz doesn't delete your account. To delete only some of your data and keep the account, write to us and say what.
What we delete
- Your account: the Google account ID, name and email address you signed in with, including your sign-in record in Firebase Authentication, the Google service alfaz uses for sign-in.
- Your minutes: your free, plan and pay-as-you-go balances, and the record of how you used them.
- Your transcription history: for each video you captioned, its length, language, the speech model used and the minutes it cost.
What we keep, and for how long
- Backups: our server keeps a short-lived backup, so a copy of your data can stay in it for up to 7 days after we delete your account. Then it's gone.
- Purchase records: if you bought minutes, we keep the order number, date and amount for as long as Indian tax law requires, up to 8 years, and nothing else about you. Google Play and the App Store keep their own records of your purchases.
What was never on our servers
- Your videos and projects stay on your phone. To delete them, delete the projects in the app, or uninstall alfaz. Videos you exported stay in your gallery until you delete them.
- Your audio isn't saved by alfaz. Our server passes it to the speech-recognition provider for the model you picked, Google (Gemini) or Sarvam AI, and keeps the text only until the transcription finishes. The providers handle audio under their own privacy policies.
Before you delete
- Minutes you haven't used, paid ones included, are lost when your account is deleted. We can't restore them afterwards.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play or the App Store, or it will keep renewing.
- If you sign in again later, you start with a new, empty account.
